Modern Rose is an exhibition design project centered on the SeMA Nam-Seoul Museum of Art, formerly the Belgian Consulate. Collaborating with seven artists, the exhibition evokes narratives of multi-layered time embedded within a building that has witnessed over a century of Korea's modern and contemporary history. The design concept focuses on deconstructing and recombining the distinct architectural features of the former consulate to form the main title typography. When magnified, the graphic motif functioning as the exhibition title reveals itself as a newly synthesized architectural form composed of multifaceted elements.
