국가폭력 피해자들의 기록을 담은 증언집 〈수상한 책 111 Vol.3〉의 북 디자인 프로젝트이다. 냉전 이데올로기 속에서 간첩으로 지목되어 고통받은 이들의 황폐해진 삶과 국가폭력의 실상을 조명한 도서이다. 디자인 컨셉은 시리즈의 핵심 모티브이자 부조리한 지목의 폭력성을 시각화하는 데 중점을 두었다. 간첩 신고 전화번호인 111 숫자 사이로 서로를 지목하는 빨간 손의 형상을 연출했다. 이를 통해 여전히 해결되지 못한 오늘날 국가폭력의 흔적을 가리키고 있다.
This is a book design project for Mysterious Book 111 Vol.3, a collection of testimonies documenting victims of state violence. The publication sheds light on the devastating reality of state violence and the shattered lives of individuals falsely accused of espionage amid Cold War ideology. The design concept focuses on visualizing the violent absurdity of false accusations—the core motif of the series. Red hands pointing at one another are woven through the number 111 (the hotline for reporting spies), evoking the unresolved scars of state violence that still linger today.
