This is a graphic design project for artist Jaewook Lee’s exhibition Studies on Rhythm, Color, and Birdsong, which explores the synesthetic experience of music and nature. The main motifs are the unique topography of Utah featured in composer Olivier Messiaen’s work and the silhouette of a bird called the 'Steller's Jay.' A graphic that organically connects the contours of the terrain and the bird was created and applied to the cover and interior layout. By adopting the distinct plumage colors of the Steller's Jay as the main accent color, the design translates the artistic texture of music theory and natural colors into an intuitive visual language.
